Stefanis: Timing for takedown of markers.

Nine days is a long time for removal of markers. I'd like to add "Preferably within 24 hours of the end of the rallye." Given that many municipalities in the area have sign posting ordinances.

I suggest this policy for Par Plaques:
* One per registered car (of course).
* One per RM, if he/she wants it. These should be claimed at the start (e.g., when signing the Insurance Waiver).
* One per CP worker, if he/she wants it. These should be claimed at the start (e.g., when signing the Insurance Waiver).
* TRC should offer to sell additional Par Plaques (up to what we've already printed), at $1 each (exact change may be required).
*: These should be claimed before score sheet deadline. The RM is probably quite busy, so the Treasurer or another worker can sell them. (I'm not suggesting we "hawk" them, but that we make it known they can be purchased.)
* Leftover, pre-assembled par plaques and faces are availible for free at the end of the rallye.
* Once the leftovers are gone, assuming there are still magnetic backs availible, we will assemble for a $1 fee. (RM and CP workers excepted)

Question: I went to add Bob Smith (say), and found a record for Alan, Bob, and Cindy Smith (say).
I deleted the other names and made the record say just Bob, since only Bob applied (and paid) for membership.
(I also sent mail offering an associate membership for another $5.) Did I hand this properly? If a new record should be added, the GUI should offer an ADD button (to be used after changing names).

Answer: when you recall an entry you are editing that entry, if you do not want to edit it, press Cancel. The information will remain in the fields, you can then press Add to create a new one.

Question: I went to add another person (with a similarly generic name) and found a record with the same name, but different address and phone numbers. I am not comfortable assuming that this is the same person. I think I should add the new record and the old one should be removed when snail mail comes back undelivered or will simply be unused when it is old enough. Comments?

Answer: I'd say this is the right way to do it

Shouldn't the form for entering a new member have a place for the membership and expiration dates?
(They could even default to the first Saturday of the current month, and the last day of the upcoming March.)

I tried checking the boxes under the name selection box to say that the new members ran the most recent rallye, but when I lookup the record again, it still isn't checked. Is some other process supposed to associate rallyists with rallyes?

Suggestion: a lookup field in which I could type the first three letters of a rallyist's last name, and
the (first) matching record would be found. (Today I can type one letter and scroll down.)
